MISSING MOM

2015.5.26.5I miss Mom. Visiting her was never sad. It was always engaging – always a challenge to draw her out. Sometimes though song, sometimes marveling at the view – sometimes just tossing her stuffed animal back and forth. And through it all her glorious smile and genuine good humor inspired me.

But I take comfort in visiting her companions in Supported Living – all with good hearts and infectious smiles.

I offer neck rubs. “Say yes!” they cry . “You’ll be glad you did. It’s heaven!”

And then there is the art. Last week’s model was ferns and mushrooms. As always, fascinating.
